Preserve your wedding dress, bridal bouquet and wedding cake

How to preserve your wedding dress, bridal bouquet and wedding cake

That beautiful gown and veil, the perfect flowers to
go with the ambiance and you even “cheated” on your diet just to sample many
flavors for your enormous cake. You have been planning for your big day for
months, now it’s the day after and you just can’t part with all these memories
– what can you do?

Wedding Gown:
FRAME IT! As seen in an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Adrienne has her gorgeous wedding gown framed, hanging on the wall of her hallway. If that is out of your budget, you can always sell your dress, donate it or recreate the dress into other memories: your 1st anniversary dress, your children’s baptismal outfits or even blankets for your newborns. If you choose to preserve your dress and veil in a box, here are some tips to storing your dress that Bridal Specialist Lisa Gowing shared with Vogue. http://www.vogue.com.au/brides/news/how+to+store+your+wedding+dress,14721

Flowers: Many places will freeze dry your flowers (to take the work out of hanging them upside down) and place them in keepsake displays, such as the Preserved Petals in Houston. You can also DIY and encase them in a glass Christmas ornament for your first Christmas together! Ilene explains how to create your own. http://www.comeonilene.com/2011/12/16/wedding-memory-capsule-christmas-ornament/

Wedding Cake 1st Anniversary Cake
Now for that yummy cake! You can attempt to freeze your cake and hope
it tastes just as amazing, when you defrost it a year later. Many have
succeeded, but if you do not want to go that route, you can ask your baker to
create a smaller cake for your 1st anniversary – some bakers are
happy to do it for free!
