Tucked away in a chic neighborhood in central Houston, The River Oaks Garden Club offered the natural setting and romantic appeal that Katty Mata and David Silva were seeking for a casual and simple afternoon wedding.
The afternoon began with a ceremony orchestrated by a traveling catholic priest who made the guests laugh their heads off. The décor
of the ceremony was selected to compliment the enchanted garden surrounding. The rain would have messed things up but fortunately there was plan B! A beautiful transparent tent was set up which still allowed guests a great view of the garden.
Right after the ceremony, guests moved to another part of the garden where they mingled during cocktail hour. Many of these guests came in from Europe, South America, Central America and Africa. Most of the guests hadn’t seen each other in over 10 years. The garden was full of life and different languages flowing about.
Following a magnificent lunch, the couple cut their beautiful cake and headed back out with the guests for some dancing. Out flew
hats, sunglasses and many other props for “crazy dancing.” The guests had a blast, as did we.
