Wendie & DJ’s Glitz & Glam Wedding at the Houstonian

As you can see from the pictures, the title says it all. From the suspended cake to the hanging ceiling piece to the bride’s dress, every detail in this gorgeous wedding had a touch of glamor. This was definitely one wedding to remember by all and we truly enjoyed working with this couple.

The beautiful wedding ceremony took place at the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. After the ceremony the couple and their bridal party headed to their reception venue in a convoy of sleek black vehicles led by police escorts. This brought back memories of one of my favorite movies, Coming to America.

The guests were led into the cocktail area through a magnificently draped hallway at The Houstonian Hotel & Spa in the River Oaks area of Houston. Following the cocktail reception was dinner and dancing in the lavishly decorated Houstonian grand ballroom. You could see the amazement on the faces of the guests as they stared at various details of the wedding, especially the suspended wedding cake which was the talk of the evening.

Of course the evening couldn’t have ended well without the appearance of a Nigeria popular artist, Davido. He surprised the bride during her father-daughter dance singing one of his hits, Omo Baba Olowo which was the song the bride’s friends who knew about the surprise insisted she danced to. Davido not only surprised the bride but the guests as well.

This was definitely a fun night to remember. My greatest moment was at the end of the night when the bride told me she thought she had just stepped into one of the weddings on David Tutera’s show when she entered her ballroom. I’m no David Tutera but I’m glad we were able to bring Wendie’s wedding vision to life.

We definitely couldn’t have pulled it off without some of our great partners- Plants n Petals, Flora &Eventi, A & A Video, RHPhotoarts, EdetOkon Cakes and Susie’s Cakes.
